Previous Meeting: Thursday, January 15th, 2009 Meeting: Speaker: Steven Rosen on portrait retouching. This month professional photographer Steven Rosen will share some of his secrets for retouching portraits. Steven is a longtime club member whose work focuses on portraits, headshots, events and weddings. You can see some of Steven's work on his website, http://www.stevenrosenphotography.com/ Whereas in most fashion photography the goal is to create an idealized image of the subject, Steven's goal in portraiture is to make delicate changes to create an image that looks great but doesn't look retouched. Steven will use examples from his own work to demonstrate his techniques, including: - Reducing wrinkles - Giving a little extra highlight to the eyes - Whitening yellow teeth This promises to be a very interesting and informative presentation that is applicable not just to professionals, but anyone who takes photos of friends and family for sharing or framing. Some basic knowledge of Photoshop including layers and masks is important so you can follow Steven. If you aren't familiar with layers and masks, Adobe has a 5-minute video that shows how they work. If you watch this before you come to the meeting, you'll be in good shape! Here's the video: http://tv.adobe.com/#vi+f1584v1012 See you all Thursday, January 15!
