Meeting: Fern Wood Mitchell speaks on Underwater Photography

1. Guest speaker Fern Wood Mitchell speaks on Underwater Photography

Longtime club member Fern Wood ("Mitch") Mitchell is an avid underwater photographer who's been to the ends of the earth to photograph the beauty of fish, corals, and other marine life. His work ranges from beautiful portraits of these creatures to abstract art derived from the details of their markings.

Mitch will speak about his work, his technique, his underwater equipment (which he'll bring to show!) and the adventures that he had in these beautiful places.

Some of Mitch's work can be seen at www.oceanabstracts.com

This will be a joint meeting with the Village Dive Club - and they will bring information about what you need to do to get underwater and take some pictures yourself!

2. Summer Show Details

The Show dropoff will be at our May meeting (One month away!) so at this meeting we'll discuss any outstanding issues with show preparation.

3. Sharing and critique

Whether you're a member or a visitor, bring something to share. Find out what others see in your work, what people like best, and how you can improve. If you bring prints, print 'em big -- 8x10 is OK but 13x19 is better! -- so everyone can see! If you'd rather share electronic images, you can do that too. We'll have a projector and laptop at the meeting so you can show 'em off big and bright. (See Tips for Sharing and Critique.)

See you all on the 16th!
