Artist's Statement
This photograph, titled "My Name Is Nomi", is from the series, The Showgirls Study. Working with the same method I used for my Memory Play series, I photograph off live television, manipulating the image only within camera-combining technique with chance mechanism to attain the final result. For this series, I am using the 1995 film, "Showgirls" as a metaphor for self-identity.
